Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas
I'm missing 2 CDs of photos, hopefully I'll be able to find them. I'm going to have to fix some of these pics. Some you can't really see. Sorry.

This was my second trip to the island. The vacation started on a 6 AM flight out of SFO to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. From there we took a 5-hour cruise to the island, again, first thing the following morning. Here's Anne asleep on the boat. When we arrived at the port, the van that took us to The Ritz and the Bahamian driver loved Shania Twain and was playing Come On Over on his cassette deck. He knew all of the words. The Ritz Resort was right on the beach.

Our first night there, we walked over to the Pirate Ship barlooking for some entertainment. Nothing was going on there. The bartender, Damian, told us to take the ferry to Port Lucaya. That night was probably the funnest night for me. I was in the square, up on stage dancing with kids that lived on the island. These pics are on the CD I can't find. These kids soo adorable. I've got to find that CD. Well, my Canon camera wasn't functioning correctly. That'll happen when it has been rolled over by a car. (That's another story.) So that's why Anne is so blurry here. Or was it the dollar shots? Then the following day, on the ferry back to Port Lucaya.

Here we are, on our way back to Pirate Ship. Our Lucaya hotel is in the background in my pic. This nite, I had so much fun. I was dancing with a little boy named Julian. Probably under 5 years old. He was really cute, too bad I don't have a pic of him. He was with his family and they let me drag him all over the Pirate Ship as my dancing partner. That night, Anne and I met John and his military buddy (can't remember his name) from Tennessee. John was a sweetheart and had that country boy accent I like so much. He was my dancing partner in a "Shake Your Ass" contest. We got third place, it was judged by cheers. When we didn't win, I saw Julian and his family watching the entire contest. I went over to him, picked him up and asked him why we didn't win. He said, "I yelled for you." Then I put him down, and he said the cutest thing I've ever heard out of a 5 year old's mouth: "Hey, where you stayin'? What's your number?" He's ganna grow up to be a heartbreaker. The rest of the night is full of shots...I think. I can't remember the rest of the night. That was the night I hurt my shoulder. It's June, and it still hurts sometimes.

The following night, we went back to the Pirate Ship for drinks and dancing of course. By this time, I had it good with the bartenders so Anne and I didn't have to wait in line for drinks...EVER! BTW, John and I were beat in the contest by very experienced dancers, Romeo (a.k.a. "Sexual Chocolate", that's how he introduced himself) and his cousin. They taught classes. Not Fair. Anyways, here's my girl Anne in a chugging beer contest. She lost...this round. She won the second round.

Here one of my favorite photos from the trip. I should be a photographer. They were giving ladies free shots from the bar. Isn't that nice? Then here's me and Romeo on the deck of the Pirate Ship.

More pics at the square. Anne was close by dancing with "Ralph" and this young kid comes up behind me and starts dancing with me. I'm guess he was 12 years old or so. So here he is below.

Here are a couple of the guys we met there. I met a Tom, Tommy and Thomas. All from The Bronx, New York AND Italian. Then there was Marcus. Thomas called him "Ohio", basically cause that's where he's from. Tom is the guy in red shorts, always looking tired, and rarely danced but I dragged him out to dance with me a couple of times.

This is the limbo man we saw the night of the contest. He was pretty bad ass. Then here's Anne and John. He was in his late 60's and while he was in a very low position doing the limbo, he smoked his cigar and drank from a cup without spilling. Pretty impressive. Our last day on our private beach. Then this pic is from our last night at Port Lucaya.

Then on our way home, after a week in The Bahamas. A view from the back of the boat. Me prepping for another 5 hour trip back to the main land.

"I'm the King of the World!" Ugh, let's see. Our renactment consists of two females at the wrong part of the ship. Go figure.

Anne participating in another beer chugging contest. This is the last time I saw John and his bud. We never exchanged contact information. Anyways, Anne had to blow up a balloon, pop it, run around the can on the floor 5 times while doing the funky chicken, then chug the beer and hold it upside down over thier head.

Look at the following photo. We were really close to docking in Florida and passengers are spotting this thing in the ocean. I thought it was another ship completely illuminated Duh, it's the moon. It just looked sooo orange. I've never seen the moon look like that before. Well, I guess you just had to be there.

More will be coming. I can't say soon as my schedule is crazy, but I'll try.
